Board approves licenses and ratifies permit

ESSEX — The Essex Board of Selectmen approved five one-day event licenses and advanced ongoing fire department restructuring discussions. Chairman Ann Cameron and the Board unanimously approved event licenses for September 26 and August 29 gatherings, ratified a building permit for 17 Middle Road, and signed an updated letter to the Massachusetts School Building Authority regarding the planned Essex Elementary School building's 50-year useful life. The Board appointed 42 general election workers and approved the Conomo Point Association's adjusted float and ramp plan.
The Board scheduled an August 18 joint meeting with the Board of Fire Engineers and Essex Fire Company to continue fire department leadership discussions.
