ESSEX — Board of Selectmen discusses potential Fire Department restructuring. Town Administrator Brendhan Zubricki presented a proposal to dissolve the Board of Fire Engineers and create a full-time chief position under state law, with preliminary financial figures under review by Finance Committee Chair Jodi Harris. The Board unanimously approved the weekly warrant totaling $1,044,930.63, approved previous meeting minutes, accepted a no-cost offer to replace loose stones with pavers outside the Senior Center, and signed cover letters for seasonal leases at Conomo Point, Robbins Island, and Beach Circle.
Senator Bruce Tarr and Representative Dru Tarr attended to discuss state-level issues including tax relief, housing, and the millionaire's tax for education and transportation.
