Selectmen approve three firefighters, advance bridge and causeway studies

Essex Selectmen approve firefighter appointments and infrastructure studies. The Board unanimously appointed three probationary firefighters, Craig Cole, Todd Rogers, and Joseph McGillicuddy, for partial one-year terms ending June 30, 2027. In infrastructure matters, the Board approved a contract with Weston & Sampson for a $38,000 technical load rating of the Landing Road bridge and unanimously endorsed a federal PROTECT grant application for Essex Causeway flooding solutions requiring a local match of approximately $21,000.
The Board also ratified an Intermunicipal Memorandum of Understanding with Manchester for senior transportation services and approved a Memorandum of Agreement with the Essex Police Association regarding compensatory time off.
