Essex fire engineers discuss payroll system and chief posting. The Board of Fire Engineers unanimously approved prior meeting minutes and discussed implementing FirstDue as the primary payroll tracking system, with training expected in October. Policy development is underway for the new system, which will replace existing tracking procedures.
The board also continued work on a fire chief position description, establishing a timeline for the Fire Company to submit comments in hopes of bringing the matter to the Fall Town Meeting. Personnel were assigned to provide detail services at three upcoming town events.
