The Board of Selectmen met quarterly with the Greater Cape Ann Chamber to discuss planning for a Downtown Essex Visioning Forum tentatively scheduled for late September or October in the Town Hall auditorium. The forum aims to bring residents, business owners, and town board and committee chairs together to discuss downtown improvements.

Town Administrator Brendhan Zubricki will request the Metropolitan Area Planning Council review a 2019 small business survey for potential reopening on the town website. Town Planner Valerie Massard will consolidate themes from the Essex Strategic Plan, Economic Development Plan, and Placemaking Plan to inform the forum.
