Safety Committee reviews grant use and discusses training goals

Essex Safety Committee discusses grant reallocation and fiscal 2027 training. The committee, meeting without Chairman Woodman, approved prior meeting minutes and discussed reallocating loss control grant funds originally designated for town pier railings toward potential use on the Centennial Grove ramp. Erin Kirchner, Board of Health, reported applying for the DIA Safety Works Training Grant to fund cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid training for all town employees after the goal was not achieved in fiscal year 2026.
OSHA training sessions on chainsaw safety, personal protective equipment, trenching and excavation, and extreme weather work were completed in May.
