Council on Aging revises 2026-2030 strategic plan, nixes assessment goal

Council on Aging · Meeting of March 26, 2026

Essex Council on Aging removes needs-assessment requirement from strategic plan. The Strategic Planning Committee revised its 2026-2030 plan, determining that staff and volunteers lack qualifications to perform formal health assessments for seniors. Objective 3, to boost engagement for seniors with cognitive or physical limitations, was cancelled because the Senior Center is not licensed to provide adult day health services.

The plan will be presented to the full board on April 7 for review and voted on May 5.
