Council on Aging receives grant, launches strategic planning

Essex Council on Aging approves prior minutes, receives grant confirmation. The board unanimously approved its January 6 meeting minutes and received confirmation that $8,000 in formula grant funding will arrive in three installments. Director Tess Leary reported that staff wage-range increase requests will be submitted as a warrant article for the May 11 town meeting.

A five-year strategic plan is underway with the first goal targeting seniors' financial security; the planning committee will reconvene February 19. The Friends of the Council discussed shifting from event management to fundraising and are considering handing off four programs to Council staff.
