ESSEX — Board of Public Works, selectmen coordinate on DPW budget and water projects. At a joint February 24 meeting, Chairman Nick Ellis and the Finance Committee agreed to seek funding for work order and asset management software at the Annual Town Meeting to better document labor costs across DPW departments. The Board of Public Works also committed retained earnings from the Water Department as a local match to a $1,092,000 Federal Legislative Earmark for water main replacement.
Town Administrator Brendhan Zubricki will organize a public forum on funding options for the anticipated Gloucester Secondary Treatment Project.
