Board of Health approves eight permits and discusses staff hiring

Essex Board of Health approves eight permits for food service and septage operations. The board voted unanimously to approve permits for food service establishments including Essex River Cruises and Charters and Down River Ice Cream, temporary food event coordinators Joan Michelle Pepin and AnnMarie Gallivan, temporary food vendor Dominique Perrin with Crepe du Jour, septage hauler Polar Environmental, and septage installer Peter Macaro. The board also unanimously approved bills payable totaling $840 and two sets of prior meeting minutes.
Board of Health Administrator Erin Kirchner reported that the Administrative Clerk position has been posted with several interviews scheduled, with hopes to narrow the field to a short list for a second interview at the April 9 meeting.
