Essex Selectmen slash commercial shellfish permits to 45. The Board unanimously voted to cut the annual limit of commercial shellfish permits from 94 to 45 based on concerns about harvesting pressure on the town's clam resource. Ann O.

Cameron was elected Select Chair in reorganization votes, replacing Peter D. Phippen, who was reappointed as Clerk. The Board also unanimously approved formation of a Senior Tax Relief Committee, with Town Administrator Brendhan Zubricki to coordinate an initial meeting scheduled for June.
