Board approves water tank upgrade, starts rate study

Essex Board of Public Works approves $1.1M water tank upgrade and rate study. Chairman Nick Ellis will initiate vendor outreach for a rate study to address approximately $6 million in anticipated secondary treatment costs, with approximately $2 million in state funding expected. The board also approved Chapter 90 paving of Southern Avenue (estimated $200,000 to $250,000) and planning for asset management software ($60,000 startup, $30,000 to $35,000 annually), as well as proceeding with an Apple Street access road project pending town meeting approval.
