Board approves new manager at The James, authorizes study contracts

ESSEX — The Essex Board of Selectmen took action on several key items, approving a manager change and authorizing study contracts. The board unanimously approved Ingrid Dowling as new manager of The James on Main Street, pending a Criminal Offender Record Information check, and authorized Chairman Alva A. Ingaharro to sign contracts for studies of Chebacco Lake and the town's three bridges, both funded by state legislative earmarks.
In routine business, the board unanimously approved bills and payroll totaling $313,972.24, ratified a $6,600 wildfire gear grant application, and designated Amy Reilly and Hayes Demeule as animal control officers.
